Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani awarded in charge investigation police station Mundan Bannu on convicting and sentenced to death an accused from the court in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar on Monday. As per details there was an old enmity between two rival groups in Bannu. A person was brutally murder from one group. The accsued Rahm Zad r/o Gundlay Bannu was nominated in the case.
During course of investigation the accused tried to dodge the investigation officer by stating that at the time of occurrence of the incident he was present in a mediatory Jirga of the area. In support of his argument he also presented 40 members of the Jirga to the police. The investigation officer through scientific investigation proved wrong the accused by stating that the incident took place at 7:00 am while the Jirga was convened at 11:00 am that day.
