Reports about WhatsApp’s group video and audio calls being available for the beta version had been surfacing since a while now and finally the new feature is available for the users.

WhatsApp announced on Monday via its blog post that its making the much anticipated group video and audio calls available for all the users across the globe now.

Snapchat’s new update will let you add 16 people to group video chat

WhatsApp informed the users that they can add up to four people in a call ‘anytime and anywhere’. The user would simply have to start a one-on-one video or audio call and tap the new ‘add participant’ button in the top right corner for including more contacts to the call.

Ensuring users’ privacy, WhatsApp clarified that similar to its chats, the calls are always end-to-end encrypted and can work reliably around the world in diverse network conditions. The feature has been rolled out on iOS and Android versions of the social media app.
