Partly Facetious: Putting the chairman ahead of co-chairman

30 Jun, 2015

"So now the leadership of the PPP has also deemed it appropriate to visit the heatstroke patients in hospitals in Karachi?"
"You mean after the Khan? Yeah, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari (BBZ) also did the rounds though in a high-level PPP meeting it was declared that the culprits are the federal government and K-Electric."
"Who is a member of a high level-PPP meeting?"
"I see where you are taking me on this, but let me remind you that BBZ is the chairman, his father if I recall correctly is simply co-chairman."
"And you are putting the chairman ahead of co-chairman? Why are you ignoring your lecture on ground realities...you know when you said the politicians must work within the ground realities which can't be changed over night, perhaps not even in one five year term, perhaps..."
"Excuse me, but I think you have an Axact degree in English... co-chairman means one of two chairmen so technically BBZ and his dad are on the same level...emphasis on the word technical."
"OK, but just to correct you on one important fact..."
"That BBZ is a better option and he must seek the initiative..."
"Not when he is flanked by Qaim Ali Shah and Sherry Rehman - they are Zardari approved."
"Thank the good Lord for small mercies - at least Gilani, the necklace absconder, was not present."
"Watch what you say! Don't make the same mistake that the superior judiciary made when he was Prime Minister when he had to remind the public that he is a pir..."
"But what did pir sahib do when push came to shove?"
"He returned the necklace with some totally incredible story that not even his staff believed."
"Ha ha ha...... anyway that is not what I wished to correct. I am not an Axact graduate but have a Masters from Montecito."
"For your information the Montecito masters is getting plum assignments, even the Khan has hired him, and..."
"And that's because he is good at what he does: defend his clients! So if you are good then you will rise to the surface."
"Technically flotsam also rises to the surface."
"Yep which has made the general public's task of separating the good from the flotsam such a challenge during elections.
