36 more people die of heatstroke in Karachi

As many as 36 more people died of heatstroke on Monday brining the death tally to 1219 in the city, official data said. According to Director General Health Sindh Hassan Murad Shah, ongoing heatwave has claimed 1,229 lives across Sindh province so far, out of which 1219 deaths occurred in Karachi.
Director General Health Sindh's report stated that current heatwave took lives of 1,229 lives throughout the province. No separate data of deaths in hospitals has been released in the report. Data received from Karachi's public and private sector hospitals said a total 1219 people died of heatstroke across the city so far, out of which 364 lost life in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, 333 in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation-run hospitals, 177 in Civil Hospital Karachi, 75 in Liaqat National Hospital, 53 in Indus Hospital, and rest in other hospitals.
As many as 36 more people have died of heatwave across the city during the last 24 hours, while hospitals confirmed that ratio of patients had dropped as compared to last week. Meanwhile, as per data issued by Provincial Disaster Management Authority's Director General Suleman Shah, a total of 1233 people died of heatstroke in Karachi so far. Some 364 people have died from scorching heat in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, 85 in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital,177 in Civil hospital Karachi, 51 in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, 42 in Qatar Hospital Orangi, 17 in Lyari General Hospital, while 333 deaths were reported in other hospitals of Sindh government or KMC across the city. Similarity, 75 deaths reported in Liaqat National Hospital, 31 Aga Khan University Hospital, 53 Indus Hospital, 78 Ziauddin Hospital and 36 in Patel Hospital.
