Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered indiscriminate crackdown against the elements, producing and selling substandard and harmful edible oil and said that those who are playing with human lives deserve no leniency. He said that such elements should be behind the bars and action should be taken against them. Chief Minister also ordered to cancel the licenses of flour mills supplying substandard flour and said that these mills have no right to carry out business.
He issued these instructions while addressing a meeting regarding Ramazan Package through video link at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. Chief Minister said that relief has been provided to the people of Punjab. He said that protection of the interest of the people is the top priority of the government and no one will be allowed to exploit the people in the form of profiteering. He added that minister, concerned secretaries and other authorities should continue to visit markets and bazaars to check the quality of items. He said that hoarding and profiteering is not tolerable and strict action should be taken against hoarders and profiteers.
