An earthquake of 5.7 magnitudes on Rector Scale in the early hours of Tuesday jolted areas of Punjab, Azad Kashmir, FATA and Khyber Pakthunkhwa. According to Met Office, the epicentre of the earthquake was in Hindukash Range with 171 kilometres depth and was reported at 3.8am on Tuesday morning. The tremor was felt in Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Upper and Lower Dir, Murree, Gilgit, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Haripur, Hazara, Lahore, Islamabad, Munzafar Abad, Parachinar, Jehalum and other parts of the country. The people came out of their homes in fear and recited verses from the Holy Quran.
