01 Jul, 2015

Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday summoned Inspector General Police Islamabad and the responsible official of Defence Ministry to probe the missing persons' case. A single-member bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case on a petition filed by advocate Mumtaz Anwar Abbasi, father of advocate Hammad.
The court directed the police to produce advocate Hammad in the court which the police failed to do. SP Rana Tahir stated that the call record for the date of the abduction had been acquired and information had been sought from witnesses. In the petition, advocate Abbasi contended that Hammad Dadan, along with three friends went to Masjid Imam Abu Daud near PIMS for Taraweeh prayers on June 20, from where all four were arrested but later Ahmed was released.
