Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on Tuesday that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) should be declared a terrorist organisation and banned. Addressing a press conference in Quetta today, he said he always used to say that RAW is involved in the deterioration of law and order in the province, adding that the BBC report about MQM has confirmed his fears.
Bugti said that Indian intelligence the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is sabotaging peace in his province. The minister also claimed that MQM was involved in subversive activities not only in Karachi, but across Pakistan. The minister informed media persons about anti-terrorist operation carried out by security forces in different areas of Balochistan.
Giving details regarding ongoing anti-terrorism actions, Bugti said heavy weapons including hundreds of rocket launchers, 9mm pistols, rifles, Kalashnikovs and thousands of bullets have been recovered during raids in Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Khanozai, Dera Murad Jamali and Bolan. He said four terrorists, including an important commander, were killed while three were arrested. Meanwhile the death toll in fighting between two banned organisations in Pir Soori Darbar area of Dera Bugti on late Monday night rose to 25.
Bugti said the clash site is in a far-flung area; accordingly, the security forces were dispatched towards the site."We will launch an operation in the area," he added. Responding to a query, the home minister said no innocent life was lost in the clash, as terrorists were engaged in a fight against each others. Both the outlawed organisations are funded by India's intelligence agency RAW, he claimed.
