PLF KP observes July 5 as 'black day'

Peoples' Lawyers Forum (PLF), lawyers' wing of PPP observed July 5 as black day to condemn the overthrow of the elected government of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto by military dictator Zia-ul-Haq on July 5, 1977. In this connection, the forum held a meeting with its provincial president, Akbar Khan Advocate in the chair. Besides, others district president PLF Peshawar Jameel Qamar was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Akbar Khan advocate said that July 5 is the day of the renovation of the resolve for PPP loyalists (Jiyalas) as a military general on this day overthrown an elected government and write a new history of barbarism in the country. He said that the military dictator did not stop on the simple overthrow of elected government rather he hanged the elected prime minister to push the country several centuries back.
Akbar Khan said that the workers had continued their struggle for democracy despite the sending of their own leader to gallows and the martyrdom of another due to which the country today have democratic system.
He said that now it is the duty of the party workers to strengthen the hands of their leadership while adhering to unprecedented sacrifices of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He said that the dream of the Bhuttoism could become true till the strengthening of PPP at gross-root level.
