Pakistan Human Rights Forum (PHRF) on Tuesday took out a protest rally against the management of Civil Hospital Hyderabad (CHH) for not providing medical facilities to patients. The rally ended outside the Hyderabad Press Club (HPC) which was attended by a large number of PHRF members. The participants were carrying banners and placards and chanting slogans against the hospital management.
Leading the rally, Mahboob Sangi and others said that patients were facing various issues due to non-availability of medicines and other facilities in the hospital. The management of the hospital was not making any effort to ensure the provision of facilities to poor patients, they said.
Majority patients had to buy the medicines from private medical stores despite huge stock of medicines is available at hospital stores, they maintained. Doctors deputed at the hospital are running their private clinics while the poor patients were lying unattended at the hospital, they alleged.
Levelling serious allegations against the hospital management, they said that it had embezzled huge funds of the hospital. They said that daily about eight to ten patients are dying due to non-availability of facilities at the hospital. They appealed to higher authorities to take notice of corruption in the hospital and eliminate artificial shortage of medicines and ensure the provision of the necessary facilities to patients.
