Senate panel won't discuss GEIC Ordinance any more

Senate Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs has decided unanimously not to discuss "The General Election 2013 Inquiry Commission Ordinance, 2015, saying it will automatically lapse after 120 days of its expiry period. The committee which met with Senator Saeed Ghani in the Chair on Monday discussed "The General Election 2013 Inquiry Commission Ordinance."
Senators Nuzhat Sadiq, Nehal Hashmi, Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Mansoor Ali, Additional Secretary Election Commission Sher Afghan and others participated in the meeting. Saeed Ghani said the Judicial Commission probing general elections 2013 would be dissolve automatically after submitting its report. He said that after submitting inquiry report, the ordinance would be useless.
Talking to Business Recorder, Ghani said that there is no need to legislate on the General Election 2013 Inquiry Commission Ordinance, 2015 as the Commission would be dissolved after 120-day of its expiry period. Senator Nehal Hashmi said that chief justice of Pakistan who is head of the judicial commission is going to be retired and we hope the Commission would present its inquiry report before his retirement. Senator Nuzhat Sadiq said that the Ordinance would end after the report of the Commission.
