Monitoring, reviewing uplift schemes Sindh government authorises DCs

Sindh government through a notification has authorised Deputy Commissioners to monitor and review schemes initiated under annual development plan in their respective areas of jurisdiction. As per notification, the DCs would be termed as Supervising and Monitoring Officers of Development Schemes in the relevant districts.
Commissioner of Karachi, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui in a meeting Tuesday, consequent to notification issued by the provincial government urged the DCs to ensure timely completion of ADP schemes in the metropolis. He on the occasion alongwith concerned officials reviewed the pace of work and directed completion of schemes with utmost transparency.
The meeting was informed that DCs in compliance to government policy would secure technical advice and relevant consultancy through monitoring cell of the development and planning department. It was decided that Director, Development and Planning, Commissioner Office, Karachi division, Syed Muhammad Shakaib will soon despatch a list of development schemes for Karachi to all DCs and also provide them needed technical consultation. The DCs agreed to conduct monthly review of development schemes underway as per annual development program in their respective districts and forward the relevant reports to the authorities on regular basis.
