Pakistan for enhanced trade, defence ties with Germany: President

President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said Pakistan seeks to enhance bilateral trade co-operation in defence, counter terrorism, renewable energy, IT and automotive industry with Germany. Talking to outgoing Ambassador of Germany Dr Cyrill Nunn who called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President said Pakistan was an investor-friendly country and German investors can take advantage of its liberal investment policies.
The President said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Germany in fields of culture and higher education. He said Pakistan desires to bolster contacts and trade with Germany both bilaterally and at the European Union level. The President said Pakistan was committed to eradicate terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations. He expressed Pakistan's desire for peace in the region and to have cordial relations with all its neighbours.
The President said Pakistan was making concerted efforts to overcome challenges being faced by it. He appreciated the outgoing ambassador's contributions in further promoting bilateral relations between the two countries and wished him well in his future assignments. The outgoing German Ambassador Dr Cyrill Nunn paid tributes to sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
