Shahbaz reviews progress on various ongoing development projects

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting here on Friday which reviewed the progress on various ongoing development projects in Lahore and other cities of the province. Addressing the meeting, the CM said transparency, standard and speedy completion of projects was the hallmark of Punjab government of Muslim League-N and the government had provided all out resources for the timely and quality completion of the projects.
He said special attention had been paid to the improvement of infrastructure in Lahore and other big cities. He said the government had introduced the culture of transparency, standard and speedy completion of development projects and third party audit had also been made compulsory in that regard which had promoted transparency in the implementation of the projects.
Referring to the modern transport facilities, the CM said that after glorious success of metro bus project in Lahore, the people of twin cities had also appreciated Pakistan Metro Bus Project and more than 0.14 million people were travelling by Pakistan Metro Buses daily.
He said metro bus project had also been started in Multan and the project would also be completed speedily while a high standard of construction would be maintained. He said early completion of development projects was necessary for facilitating the people. Therefore, he said, a number of projects of infrastructure development had been completed speedily in Lahore.
He said Jail Road signal-free project was of vital importance, adding the project would improve the flow of traffic and precious time would be saved. He said that under signal-free project, underpasses overhead bridges and U-turns would also be made so as to provide maximum facilities to the people and save their time. The CM directed concerned authorities to complete that project speedily and alternative routes be made for the benefit of the people and their due publicity should be ensured.
