At least four people were killed during the last 24 hours in rain related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) three people were killed in Karak and one in Mardan. Five people have also been injured in these areas. Thirteen homes in Karak have been partially impacted by the rain. PDMA said aid will be given to those impacted after a final report.
During the last 12 hours two millimetres of rain has fallen in Peshawar which will continue for the next two days. Rain is also expected in other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as per meteorological department. The authority is constantly monitoring floods situations at all rivers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There was not predication of any major flood in the province. Strict action would be taken against those spreading speculations regarding flood and warning through loudspeakers of the mosques, according to press release of the PDMA issued here on Saturday. It said the relevant district administration will be issued flood warnings.
According to PDMA spokesperson, the irrigation department has collected data of all rivers on twice a day. As per prevalent situation, in Kabul River at Warsak, water level is 54071 cusses, while in Nowshera mukhum 102800 cusses with low intensity flood. Likewise, the water level at Nullah Kalyani Chowki, Risalpur is around 10469 cusses, while in Baghdada Mardan the level touched nearly 32378 caucuses with medium flood. At river Swat (Khayali Charsadda), PDMA said that water level is 25540 cusses, whereas at river Adazai 48464 cusses with low intensity flood. In KP, the water flow is normal at rest of rivers.
According to meteorological report, it was predicated widespread rains-thundershowers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while at scattered places heavy falls area are also expected in Hazara division during next 24 hours. PDMA said that all stakeholders have been informed to take precautionary measures on urgent basis.
