A large number of office-bearers and ticket holders of Pakistan Sunni Tehrik Gujranwala including its President joined Pakistan Muslim League -Q when they called on senior central leader of the party Chaudhry Parvez Elahi here on Sunday. Tehrik District President Sardar Anjum Dogar headed the delegation.
Welcoming the new entrants Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that during his tenure as Chief Minister free treatment facilities were being provided in the govt hospitals and Rescue 1122 was also established. But instead of improving the services Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is begging for donations for running 1122. He was also giving advertisements to hand over govt hospitals on contract to private parties which was an ample proof of failure and inefficiency of these self praising ruler
Elahi pointedly stated that he had increased budget of Health Department by as much as 134 per cent during his tenure, for the first time in the history of Pakistan free medicines were provided to the patients in the govt hospitals while revolutionary service 1122 had saved hundreds of thousands of lives.
He said his government had also established most modern cardiology hospitals in Multan, Faisalabad and Wazirabad, new emergency blocks and operation theatres were constructed in big hospitals.
But the PML_N government has stopped work on many projects including Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences, Punjab Institute of Neuro Surgery, Surgical Tower Mayo Hospital, and Burn Centre Jinnah Centre among others. Shahbaz Sharif is not allowing Wazirabad Cardiology Hospital for Gujranwala Division to be functional due to which at least four thousand heart patients have already expired, he alleged.
