Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain has said that MQM is striving for equal rights for people without any discrimination of caste, colour and creed. He advised the party leaders, office-bearers and workers to continue their struggle till the achievement of the goal of the party even if he is arrested in "fake and fabricated" cases, or his address to his people is banned or even if he is killed.
Addressing the MQM Zonal Committee members and women members of Hyderabad over telephone Altaf Hussain said that he started the struggle from the age of 25 and now he has turned 62.
During the last 37 years "I kept myself far from the sports and other extra-curricular activities and laid the foundation of APMSO on June 11, 1978 against the injustices meted out to the sons and daughters of those who migrated from India. And on March 18, 1984 formed Mohajir Qaumi Movement with a view to raising our voices against the discriminatory attitude of Quota System and inhuman treatment meted out Mohajirs". Altaf Hussain advised the rulers in the government that instead of threatening him they should look into themselves and pay attention in their own rank and file.
Altaf Hussain further regretted that Chaudhry Nisar openly showed "biasness" when he uttered not a single word and kept mum on the statement given by Khawaja Asif against the heads of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). However, he became furious over a fake report of his statement. He regretted that an Army operation was carried out against MQM to eliminate the party "but by the grace of Almighty Allah Rabbul Izzat the MQM remained safe and the party was renamed as Muttahida Qaumi Movement on July 27, 1992."
