Juma-tul-Wida, the last Friday of Ramazan is, is being observed with fervour. Muslims visit mosques to pray for the country's peace, progress and prosperity and the liberation of Palestine from Israel. Scholars, in their sermons, will highlight the importance of the month, fasting, Itikaf and Juma-tul-Wida. They also highlight the spirit of the Eid and make a solemn pledge to follow the teachings of Islam in a proper way and advise the faithful to include their poor fellow Muslims in the festivities.
Juma-tul-Wida has a special importance for Muslims offering special prayers to seek mercy. In Lahore, the main Friday congregation will be held at the Badshahi Mosque, Jamia Ashrafia, Data Darbar Mosque, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Nila Gumbad Mosque, Minhaj-ul-Quran. Law enforcing agencies have adopted adequate security arrangements across the country to avert any untoward incident. Police officials and other security staff will be deployed to protect mosques and Imambargahs.
