At least six persons were killed and 15 others injured in different accidents in Swat on last Saturday. There were women among the injured as well, local authorities reported. According to Charbagh police officials, four passengers died on the spot and 12 other were critically injured when an over-speeding passenger van turned turtle after colliding with a car near Guli Bagh area of Charbagh tehsil. The deceased were identified as Naveed Khan, Samiullah, Qayum Khan and Ghamid Khan. Rescue officials shifted the injured to the hospitals where they are receiving medical help.
The wounded were rushed to Saidu Teaching Hospital (STH) where seven people were reported to be in critical condition. However, later one injured victim succumbed to his injuries. "The van was overloaded and the driver was recklessly driving it. The vehicle went out of control at Guli Bagh area and collided with a car coming from the opposite side and overturned," said one of the injured in hospital. The driver fled the incident scene, however, police have filed case against him and started search to arrest him. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist identified as Aftab khan died on the spot after his bike collided with a van near Kukrai area of Islampur. Two persons also got injured in the accident who were shifted to STH.
