MQM chief Altaf Hussain has demanded of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Home Minister Anwar Sial to orders admitting detained MQM leader Qamar Mansoor to a hospital immediately for saving his life. In a statement, Hussain alleged that Qamar Mansoor has been subjected to inhuman torture after being arrested on 29th night of Ramzan from Khursheed Begum Secretariat.
He said Qamar Mansoor was arrested during the 1992 operation as well and at that time too he was tortured brutally. The torture had affected his spinal cord and some other organs seriously. He was able to walk after a long time, but he never fully recovered. Hussain said he had talked to Dr Musarrat Jahan, sister of Qamar Mansoor, on telephone. "She told me that Rangers official had brought Qamar Mansoor to meet his ailing mother in the hospital. His condition was serious. His face was swollen because of torture. His soles bore the marks of beating and with skin coming off. He was unable to walk because of pain in his back."
Hussain said: "I want to bring it to the knowledge of CM Sindh and Home Minister that the condition of the mother of Qamar Mansoor has deteriorated after his arrest. She has been admitted to a private hospital." He appealed to CM Sindh and Home Minister in the name of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) to immediately order to admit Qamar Mansoor to a hospital for saving his life.
