PPP seeks applications for LG polls

Pakistan People's Party Karachi Division President Syed Najmi Alam has asked all those party men, who would be interested in contesting the forthcoming local bodies' elections in Sindh province in the month of September, to submit their applications along with particulars. He also asked them to deposit a sum of Rs 1000 for the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman and Rs 500 for councillor within one week.
Meanwhile, the PPP on third day of Eid holidays hosted an Eid Millan Party, which was dedicated to the martyrs of Army Public School, Safoorah Goth massacre, deaths in Karachi from extreme heat wave, Gujranwala Train incident and Shikarpur tragedy. The Eid Millan was attended by PPP Karachi Division President Syed Najmi Alam, Senator Saeed Ghani, Chief Minister's special co-ordinators Waqar Mehdi and Rashid Rabbani, Shahjehan Khan, Fareed Ansari, Lateef Mughal, Manzoor Abbas, Mirza Maqbool, Shehzad Mazari, Arshad Naqvi, Taymoor Sayyal, Iqbal Saand, Asif Rahi, Jawaid Balouch, Iqbal Rickshaw walla, Maulana Nasarullah Madni, Jawaid Shaikh, PPP divisional presidents and general secretaries and workers in a large number.
The PPP leaders and workers offered special prayers for the departed souls of the martyrs and expressed their complete solidarity with the aggrieved families of the martyrs. The PPP leaders and workers at the Eid Millan Party reiterated their resolve for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the Pak Army and security forces of the country in their fight for the elimination of extremism and terrorism from the country. They vowed the PPP won't hesitate offering any sacrifices for the mission of Pak Army for the elimination of extremism and terrorism from the country. They also praised the role of law enforcement agencies, Police and Rangers for maintaining peace and tranquility in Karachi and expressed hopes that they would continue with their national spirit for the peace and stability.
