Defence cooperation MoF, Chinese firm reach agreement

Pakistan and China here on Thursday reached an understanding on matters of defence cooperation relating to Pakistan Navy and financial arrangements to this effect were also concluded. Agreement to this effect was reached between Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar and Xu Ziqin, President of the Chinese Company, CSOC and the accompanying delegation after having discussion in this regard, a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said.
The Minister for Finance while talking to the Chinese delegation said that visit by the CSOC delegation to Pakistan would enhance and further strengthen their bilateral economic and defence cooperation. The Minister on this occasion specially praised the efforts and contribution of Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong in furthering cooperation between China and Pakistan.
CSOC President Xu Ziqin thanked Finance Minister Dar for taking out time from his busy schedule to meet the CSOC delegation. "This was reflective of the deep rooted Pak-China friendship," he remarked. Secretary Finance Dr Waqar Masood, Secretary EAD Saleem Sethi, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong and senior Navy officials attended the meeting.
