Plan to smuggle out foreign currency foiled

The staff of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive, posted at Jinnah International airport, claimed to have recovered different foreign currencies equivalent to US $27000 from a passenger. According to details, action was taken on a tipoff, which revealed that a passenger Mustaq Ahmed Meo was planning to smuggle foreign currencies to Dubai.
Reacting on this information, the passenger was intercepted at departure and the staff after thorough examination recovered 66800 Saudi riyals, 9000 dirham and 2775 Omani Riyals, which are equivalent to US $27000 from his possession. He was taken into custody and further investigation was underway.
