Exemption from appearance in Ghazi killing case: IHC refers Musharraf's application to sessions judge

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday referred the application of General Musharraf (Retd) for exemption from personal appearance in the court in Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazi murder case back to the session judge to decide. IHC Justice Aamir Farooq referred the case back to the session judge to decide on exemption of General Musharraf on the basis of fresh medical report submitted by the counsel of former president.
In the new of medical report, the doctors again advised former military ruler not to travel outside Karachi. Last month, acting district and session judge Kamran Basharat Mufti issued the non-bailable arrest warrants while rejecting the plea of his exemption from appearing for medical reasons. On July 7, IHC has sought fresh medical report from the counsel of Musharraf after initial hearing of petition filed against issuance of the arrest warrants.
