The Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) has joined hands with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to raise public awareness about corruption by placing Anti-corruption Billboards along one particular stretch of roads in the provincial capital. As part of an awareness drive, Billboards carrying NAB's message 'say no to corruption' has been placed at prominent junctions of the city along a particular stretch.
The activity aimed at raising public awareness to help curb corruption more effectively. QMC has also displayed banners and standees carrying NAB's messages on its premises to attract attention of the daily visitors, hundreds in number towards evil of corruption. The campaign focuses on showing people how corruption affects their everyday lives and what all citizens can do to fight it.
NAB Balochistan had earlier called Deputy Mayor of Quetta, Younus Baloch to regional office Quetta to discuss QMC's possible role in eradication of corruption. The Deputy Mayor lauding the efforts of the NAB assured his full co-operation in this regard. He agreed to spare reasonable place for placing the Billboards carrying NAB's messages at main areas of Quetta. After a successful meeting, Billboards were installed at major roads of Quetta. Director General NAB Balochistan Major Tariq Mehmood Malik (Retd) has commended the co-operation of QMC and urged people to assist NAB in its awareness drives. Elements with corrupt mindset would not be allowed to dent the beautiful face of the society, DG said.
