10 Aug, 2015

Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has expressed his concerns and resentment over the raids on religious seminaries in Punjab. In an interview here on Sunday, Fazlur Rehman said that crackdowns by security institutions and police on seminaries were not acceptable at all and he would convey his concerns to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Commenting over electoral reforms, he said that the Parliament should be allowed to work towards ensuring transparency in elections.
The JUI-F chief questioned that how Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan came to know about rigging in 2013 general election after passage of one year.
Talking about military courts, he said that his party was not in favour of military courts but the Parliament had enacted a discriminatory law in this regard.
