Flood-hit people: Rs 530 million released to DCOs for relief activities: PDMA

Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Jawad Akram has said that on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, relief activities are continuing on emergent basis for the rehabilitation of flood affected people.
District administration of the province is regularly providing three-time meal to marooned people and flood affected victims in relief camps. Jawad Akram said that Rs 530 million have been released to DCOs of affected districts for expediting relief activities of flood-hit people so that process of their rehabilitation could be accelerated.
He said that foods have been provided to more than 4,86,466 persons so far. He said that 1,87,512 persons have been rescued through 289 boats and shifted to safe places while 19,317 affected people are residing in 253 relief camps. He further said that 37,600 tents, 147,750 food hampers, 82,000 mineral water bottles, 25,050 mosquito nets and 17,550 plastic mats have been distributed among flood victims as per demand of the administration.
