Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao Sunday hailed Senate body's recommendations regarding reconstitution of boards of all regulatory bodies, autonomous and semi-autonomous corporations and other state institutions, giving equal representation to all provinces.
In a statement issued from Watan Kor, he said all boards, councils and bodies should be reconstituted in order to ensure equal representation of all provinces by reviewing the laws within the specified time period as suggested by the Special Committee on Devolution Process. He added that such recommendations would strengthen democratic norms in the country plus giving equal representation to all provinces. Equal representation to all provinces in the boards would end grievances of small provinces like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.
QWP chief said that Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) should also be given due share in the boards in order to represent the state institutions. The inclusion of tribal belt would bring the tribesmen into mainstream and it would help alleviate the persistent sense of deprivation among war-hit people of Fata, he suggested.
