PDWP approves 21 uplift schemes

The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Punjab approved 21 development schemes of various development Sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 25.9 billions including Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project (shifting of utilities) at the cost of Rs 9.516 billion. These infrastructure development/welfare schemes were approved in the 5th meeting of PDWP of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretary concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting. According to P&DD spokesman the approved development schemes included:
1. Punjab Youth Internship Program (2015-16) at the Cost of Rs 2300.00 million, 2. Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project (Shifting of Utilities, LDA Departmental Charges for Execution of work, LESCO Power Supply Interface) at the Cost of Rs 9516.44 million 3. Promotion of Pulses Cultivation in Punjab at the Cost of Rs 127.260 million,
4. Developing Pothwar into an Olive Valley at the Cost of Rs 1850.000 million, 5. Extension Service-2.0 Farmer Facilitation through Modernized Agriculture Extension at the Cost of Rs 4399.864 million, 6. Construction of Modern Concrete Silos of 100,000 M Tons Capacity at Muzaffargrah and Bahawalpur Distt(Phase-I) (Revised) at the Cost of Rs 501.427 million, 7. Restructuring & Reorganisation of Breeding Services in Punjab at the Cost of Rs 517.411 million, 8. Provision of Rural Poultry Breeds through Augmenting R&D at the Cost of Rs 65.751 million,
9. Delivery of Better Extension Services to Accelerate Fish Culture Practices at the Cost of Rs 491.084 million, 10. Construction of District Jail, Lodhran at the Cost of Rs 1330.504 million, 11. Construction of District Jail, Layyah (Non-Residential Portion) at the Cost of Rs 338.574 million, 12. Establishment of Satellite Stations of Punjab Forensic Science Agency at Divisional Level at the Cost of Rs 302.345 million, 13. Widening/Improvement of road from Killianwala to Garh Tehsil Tandlianwala, length= 14.00 km, District Faisalabad at the Cost of Rs 266.240 million, 14. Construction of Dual Carriage Way from Faisalabad Dry Port to Sahianwala via Chak Jhumra, length= 18.90 km, District Faisalabad at the Cost of Rs 930.632 million,
15. Widening/Improvement of road from Bhowana to Pansara Road upto Khair Wala Bangla, Tehsil Bhowana, length= 26.25 km, District Chiniot at the Cost of Rs 378.840 million, 16 Construction of Bhowana Bypass Tehsil Bhowana, length= 9.00 km, District Chiniot at the Cost of Rs 395.407 million, 17 Rehabilitation of Chund-Lalian Road from km No.0.00 to 7.35, 8.70 to 13.84 and 22.01 to 35.00 (length= 25.48 Km), District Jhang and from km No. 35.00 to 40.52 and 65.16 to 70.84 (length= 11.20) District Jhang & Chiniot at the Cost of Rs 468.257 million, 18 Completion of Remaining Portion of Toba Tek Singh Road. Construction of Toba Bye Pass from Toba-Jhang Road to Toba-Rajana Road West-South Side, L=17.00 km, Distt TT Singh at the Cost of Rs 515.637 million,
19. Rehabilitation of Road Lehtrar Burj via Biaga length=19.60 km, Tehsil Kotli Sattian District Rawalpindi at the Cost of Rs 224.217 million, 20., Widening/Rehabilitation of Lehtrar Kotli Kulliary Road length=24.10 km District Rawalpindi at the Cost of Rs 591.035 million and 21. Construction of Kahuti to Kulliary road length=31 km, Tehsil Kotli Sattian District Rawalpindi at the Cost of Rs 389.756.
