High intensity earthquake jolts Islamabad, KP and AJK

An earthquake of high intensity jolted different areas of Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Friday evening. According to details, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on the Richter scale was felt in Islamabad, Murree, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, Battagram, Tourghar, Alai, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and surrounding areas of the AJK.
People of the areas where the tremor was felt rushed out of their homes in panic reciting verses from the Holy Quran but no loss of property, life or any injury was reported. Geological wing of the PMD said that epi-centre of the earthquake was in Kazakhstan deep inside the earth crust. No loss was reported due to earthquake from anywhere the quake was felt.
