While expressing deep grief and sorrow over the death of Punjab Home Minister, Colonel Shuja Khanzada (retd) in suicide blasts in village Shadi Khan of Attock, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has termed it as a "National tragedy".
In a statement issued from London on Sunday, Altaf said that this tragic incident has not only left the people of Punjab sad and grieved but equally all the peace loving people of the entire country. The manner in which the suicide bombers carried out the attack shows that the terrorist still have the capacity to strike at their will and target innocent citizens at place of their choice.
The terrorists are carrying out dastardly acts in all cities of Pakistan with a sole aim of destabilising the country, MQM chief added.
Extending support to the government efforts to control terrorism, Altaf Hussain said that National Action Plan shall be enforced with all might to weed out terrorists. Let the people, the government, opposition parties join hands and exhibit exemplary unity to fight terrorism and terrorists, said Altaf Hussain.
