Navy's flood relief operation 'MADAD' in full swing

Pakistan Navy flood Relief and Rescue operation "MADAD" continues to help flood stricken people of Sujawal, Chuhar Jamali and Shah Bandar after providing support at Sukkur, Khairpur, Pano Aqil, Larkana, Badin and Nawabshah, says in a press release issued on Saturday. Pakistan Navy teams responded promptly after erosion of dikes near Shah Bandar and Chuhar Jamali and started relief and rescue work in the effected areas.
Pakistan Navy helicopters Sea-king and Zulu boats are being extensively utilized in the flood hit areas. During last 24 hours more than 500 hundred people including women and children have been evacuated from the flood battered areas and shifted to safe places. 03 tons of rations have been distributed through Pakistan Navy Sea-king helicopters amongst the flood affectees.
Numerous Marines pickets have been established at Surjani Bund and Bacha (MONARKI) Band to observe flood situation and erosion on Bund. Moreover, Pakistan Navy rescue Teams provided logistics support at Goth Kuddario near Shah Bandar in coordination with local administration and assisted locals for plugging and strengthening Bund in vicinity of Chuhar Jamali.
