National Twenty20 likely to be shifted from Rawalpindi

The National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament to be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi is likely to be shifted to some other venue due to security concerns. The National T20 will be played in Pindi Cricket Stadium from September 1 to 15. The Qualifying round will be held from September 1 to 5 while the T20 tournament will be played from September 8 to 15.
Talking to APP, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said the tournament is likely to be shifted to some other venue due to security concerns.
"A decision over the shifting of the tournament is expected in the coming days," he said.
He said a meeting was held between PCB Director Domestic Cricket Intikhab Alam and the local administration over the issue. "And in the meeting security concerns were expressed over the event being held in Rawalpindi and it was proposed in the meeting to shift the tournament to some other venue," he said. He said the board will make the decision regarding the event to shift or not in the days to come. "If the tournament shifts then Multan or Lahore are some likely venues to host the event," he said.
