The authorities have almost accomplished 67 per cent of detailed design study of Munda Dam as they hoped to accomplish this very task by the year end and overall completion of design study in April 30, 2016. After completion of detailed design study and preparation of PC-I and tender documents, the project will be ready for construction that will take seven years to complete.
The information provided by Ministry of Water and Power here on Sunday revealed that project activities are at halt due to non-formal approval of PC-II/non authorisation of the Mohmand (Munda) Dam Hydropower project.
During 2014-15, Rs 100 million, as foreign component (soft loan) was allocated. The amount of Rs 181.293 million as a first drawdown has been received last year from French Development Agency (AFD).

The solar power projects are being developed on IPP mode through private investors on locations proposed by investors.
The biomass power projects are being developed on IPP mode as well as under the Framework for Power Co-generation 2013 (Bagasse/Biomass) wherein sugar mills are being encouraged to generate electricity for supply to national grid using high pressure boilers. The solar and biomass projects have been launched in all four provinces.
