PML-Q too seeks removal of four ECP members

31 Aug, 2015

Pakistan Muslim League-Q senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that all four members of the Election Commission have lost the trust of all the major opposition parties, therefore they must immediately resign.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said unless these four ECP members resign, elections will not be transparent as such our party (PML-Q) will not take part in the bye-election and other political parties should also boycott the bye-elections.
He said all parties are demanding that members of the Election Commission should immediately resign, because free and fair elections will only be held when new members were inducted and their selection was made in consultation with all political parties.
Responding to a question regarding bye-election, he said our party's unanimous decision is that in the presence of sitting members. By-elections will not be transparent as such our party is not contesting the election. All other parties should also deliberate on this because those who had done rigging in 2013 general election will not hold free and fair elections.
He said almost all parties had protested against conduct of 2013 general elections and also appeared before the Judicial Commission, therefore all political parties should boycott bye-election.
