KP Senior Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD) Inayatullah Khan Monday revealed that the provincial government has decided to develop Regi Model Township on fast track and for this purpose the Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has constituted a 3 member review committee under his chairmanship to supervise the developmental process.
The committee would sit at site office of PDA in Regi Township every fortnight to meet the locals and officials and to resolve issues on the spot. "Security is being made full prove while PDA is tasked to improve infrastructure in all phases of the township especially in zone 3 and 4", he said and added that police, WAPDA, Sui gas and other federal and provincial departments have also been given deadlines of achieving its targets.
He was talking to the PDA officers and elite of the township during visit of the area. Secretary LG&RD Syed Jamaluddin Shah, DG PDA Salim Hassan Wattoo and other concerned high ups also accompanied him. A large number of the inhabitants of the townships also met him and apprised him of their problems. They express satisfaction on the spot measures for mitigating issues and termed his visit along with the review committee members a good omen for the cause of the township.
The Senior Minister on this occasions announced that all the directors, staff and sections of PDA concerned with RMT would forthwith shifted to the side office of the township to listen and settle grievances of the local dwellers while also cautioned that any director or official found absent from duty would be removed from office by very next day.
He further clarified that all the officials in the township would have to become essential part of the developmental activities while substandard works and encroachment would not be tolerated at any cost. He further said that all payments have been made for Sui gas distribution in the township and the department was bound to start providing Sui gas connections to the locals within couple of weeks. Similarly, he said WAPDA has also been approached for zero load-shedding in the township. Later Inayatullah also chaired a meeting of the review committee at site office of PDA wherein progress on tree plantation, road development, government buildings, parks, water supply, sewerage, sanitation and security schemes were taken into stock and necessary decisions taken to expedite the pace of work.
