Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Friday and briefed him about his talks in London with his British counterpart and other officials. Nisar also briefed the Prime Minister about the visit of the Scotland Yard team to Pakistan that interrogated the accused in the murder case of MQM leader Imran Farooq and the confessions made by them.
"Nisar's recent visit was a continuation of last year's talks aimed at getting support from British authorities in curbing MQM and Baloch insurgents who are currently seeking asylum in UK," the source added. Further, the source revealed that the government of Pakistan and the UK authorities are in direct talks regarding co-operation in the ongoing Karachi operation as well as other strategic co-operation with the UK in the region.
The Interior Minister also briefed the PM about progress on the Karachi operation. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the outcome of Nisar's UK visit and hoped that it would bring the desired results soon. He also expressed satisfaction over implementation of the National Action Plan including operation in Karachi and made it clear that action would continue against those who played any role in disturbing peace in the mega city till restoration of complete peace.
