South Korea buys 51,200 tonnes of US wheat

Two South Korean mills purchased a total 51,200 tonnes of wheat to be sourced from the United States in separate deals on Thursday, European traders said. Daehan Flour Mill Co Ltd bought 26,400 tonnes and Donga-One purchased 24,800 tonnes from separate suppliers, the traders said, with both purchases for shipment between November 25 and December 25.
Daehan bought 9,500 tonnes of western/soft white wheat with 10.5 percent protein at $240.10 a tonne fob and 1,000 tonnes of western/soft white wheat with 8.5 percent protein at $319.23 a tonne fob, they said. Daehan also purchased 4,700 tonnes of hard red winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein at $210.75 a tonne fob and 11,200 tonnes of dark/northern spring wheat of 14 percent protein at $229.89 a tonne fob, the traders said.
Donga-One bought 15,300 tonnes of western/soft white wheat with 10.5 percent protein at $242.14 a tonne fob and 2,000 tonnes of western/soft white wheat with 8.5 percent protein bought at $324.45 a tonne fob. Donga-One also purchased 3,500 tonnes of hard red winter wheat of 11.5 protein at $208.98 a tonne fob and 4,000 tonnes of dark/northern spring wheat of 14 percent protein at $233.41 a tonne fob, traders said.
