Since users have been complaining about MacBook’s keyboards, Apple is reportedly considering to entirely replace the keyboards.
Apple has facing issues with its MacBook keyboards since a long time, hence three new patents filed by the company show that it might be considering developing new interfaces and replace the keyboard with track pads, reported Mashable.
Out of three filed patents, one of them describes a laptop with a digital panel where a keyboard is usually located. This can be considered that Apple wants to replace the traditional keyboard with technology like the Touch Bar, a row of virtual and customizable buttons. The patent also contains data regarding sensors and haptics placed under the supposed digital panel through which it can detect and respond to user inputs like strokes, taps and clicks.
As per the second patent, the digital paneling would not replace the keyboard but instead would surround it, adding touch sensitivity to the areas below and left and right of the keyboard.
The third patent points out a keyboard sealed under a protective membrane designed to probably keep out destructive things like water and dust, described CNET.
However, since these all are just patents, it is not sure whether they will come to reality or not.
