Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here Wednesday which reviewed progress on the project of mineral reserves in Chiniot-Rajwa. Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Minerals Department will have to play an active role to meet the modern demands. He directed that immediate measures should be taken for reorganization of the department. He said that mapping will be carried out for correct estimate of mineral reserves in Punjab.
He said that the steering committee should regularly review matters regarding mineral reserves project and reorganization of Minerals Department and steps should be taken after comprehensive planning. German expert Dr Jurgen Hartsh gave a briefing on the pace of the project. Provincial Minister for Minerals Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan, Member Provincial Assembly Imtiaz Ahmad Lali, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Minerals and concerned officers attended the meeting.
