Election for the office-bearers of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) for the year 2015-16 will be held on Saturday (September 19), while its annual general body meeting is scheduled for September 30. Meanwhile, all the 15 candidates who had submitted their nomination forms to contest election of KCCI's managing committee have been elected unopposed as the number of nomination forms received by the election committee till July 13, the last date for filing nomination papers, was the same as that of vacant seats of the managing committee.
Those who have been declared elected unopposed are: Younus Muhammad Bashir, Imran Aftab, Zia Ahmed Khan, Altaf A. Ghaffar, Shoaib Ahmed Faridi, Arif Quettawala, Muhammad Haris Agar, Muhammad Ali Aziz, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shamsi, Anis Bhesania, Tabassum Khurshid, Ansar Ali Khan, Amjad M. Ashraf, Kamal Aftab and Atif Jamil-ur-Rehman. Sources told Business Recorder that former KCCI president Siraj Kasim Teli has nominated Younus Muhammad Bashir, Zia Ahmed Khan and Muhammad Naeem for the posts of president, senior vice president and vice president, respectively, of KCCI for the 2015-16.
