Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said the war against terrorism and militancy in the tribal region is being fought for the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan adding that whole the Nation stood united with the Pak Army and security forces in the war against terrorism.
He said the dignified return and rehabilitation of TDPs was the top most priority of the incumbent government and steps have been taken to ensure the reconstruction and development of the tribal region. He stated that one billion and 200 million rupees have already been released for rehabilitation and reconstruction of infrastructure in North Waziristan Agency without delay.
He said this while talking to the representative delegation of tribal elders and businessmen from North Waziristan Agency (NWA) led by Maulana Syed Yousaf Shah at Governor's House Peshawar on Wednesday. The delegation was comprised of Malik Khan Marjan Wazir, Malik Shah Nawaz Khan, Malik Shahzad Khan, Malik Riaz Khan, Shah Wazir Khan and others. They apprised the Governor about some of the problems and difficulties which the businessmen from North Waziristan have been facing. The Governor assured the delegation that possible steps are being under consideration to solve their grievances.
Governor said they are determined for restoration of peace and the development of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA). He said the government was well aware of the problems and difficulties of TDPs adding that they had rendered sacrifices for the sake of the peace of entire region and now the time has come to take measures for the welfare of tribal people.
He said repatriation of all the internally dislocated tribal families possible to their native places will receive top priority adding that the return process of TDPs has already been started. He said their government is fully determined and serious for the socio-economic uplift of the people of the tribal area and peace and stability in FATA is a pre-requisite for progress and development of the country.
Sardar Mehtab said every possible step would be taken to bring the people of FATA into the mainstream. He said that the services and sacrifices of the tribal people were highly valuable and these would always be remembered with appreciation. The governor said that it is the need of an hour and urged tribal elders to play their effective role with responsibility to ensure sustainable peace and stability in the tribal region.
He said we have zero tolerance against the enemies of Pakistan and whole the nation stood united with Pak army and security forces in the war against terrorism. He said we are committed to uproot the wave of militancy and terrorism once for all.
He said that austerity measures would be taken to ensure the provision of best infrastructure, health centers, schools, colleges, hospitals, employment opportunities and modern facilities in Federal Administered Tribal Areas. He said that FATA intensely needs a healing touch so that through peace and development, the area can be secured against terrorism and extremism. He said that nation was fully supporting the Pak Army in war against terrorism and the war would continue till the elimination of last terrorist.
He said Pakistan's sovereignty in the region is being fought and tribesmen have played important role in the war against terrorism. Whole the nation would honour the sacrifices rendered by tribal people, he added.
