Qaumi Watan Party Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Monday minority community is equal citizens of the country and QWP would keep struggling to ensure equal rights and equal opportunities for them on every platform. Addressing a gathering arranged by QWP minority wing at Archive Library, QWP chief while acknowledging their role in social and economic development of the country said that QWP considered them as sons and daughters of the soil and the party would make every effort to ensure their basic rights and security.
He, on the occasion, asked QWP minority wing office holders to double their efforts regarding identifying their basic issues and problems and discussed with him so as to bring them on government's agenda on different platforms. Sherpao called for equal constitutional and legitimate rights to minority communities in the country. "QWP will raise voice for the minority rights issue at all forums", he vowed. He said the non-Muslim community is playing pivotal role in development and progress, while he furthermore said the minority has also major role in politics of the country.
He said the minority's issues should be resolved on priority basis to give them all and legal rights as per constitution of the country. For this purpose, he urged the minority leaders to also raise their issues at proper fora. QWP MPA Anisazeb Tahirkheli and Chairman Minority wing and former MPA Pervez KG also spoke on the occasion. QWP Provincial Chairman Sikandar Khan Sherpao, Provincial General Secretary Hashim Babar and Provincial Secretary Information Tariq Ahmad were also present.
On the occasion, Rakhsh Azeem from Tehsil Bannu, Denial Zafar of Union Council 33 Peshawar, Shahzad Ghouri from district Bannu, Shirkand UC City Bannu, member of Cantonment Board Peshawar, Kabirdar Ghauri announced to join Qaumi Watan Party (QWP).
