Federal Water and Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Saturday inaugurated two day exhibition for Women by Women at Government College for Women University organised by Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Minister on this occasion took round of stalls of the exhibition and appreciated the efforts of women folk for producing quality products.
Talking to the exhibitors he said that exhibitions and fairs were main source for promoting business as well as supportive in introducing products among the people at home and abroad. The Minister lauded the efforts of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) for organising mega event in this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry of the country adding that Sialkot is playing an instrumental role in strengthening national economy through its export as well as providing employment opportunities to thousands industrial workers.
On this occasion President SCCI Fazal Jilani informed the Minister that this exhibition is first of its kind arranged by the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) aimed at facilitating the business women which will enable them to exhibit their products adding that as many as 46 business women are participating in two day Exhibition for "Women by Women.
The basic concept of arranging this mega exhibition was to identify women entrepreneurs having adequate production and export capacity, networking of women entrepreneurs through chamber platform to add synergy to export growth and link up women entrepreneurs with retailers, trade houses, wholesale buyers and other women entrepreneurs he said.
Fazal said that business women from Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot and some other cities were taking part in the exhibition and display their products adding that the exhibition was covering garments and textile, fashion wear, handicrafts, home décor, sports wear, leather products, food its, jewellery items, leather accessories, pharmaceuticals and herbal products, confectioneries, cosmetics and other services.
