Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh President Ismail Raho has said that all the phases of local government elections in the province should be transparent.
Addressing a press conference at the PML-N House here on Sunday, he said that certain elements want to manipulate the Local Government (LG) elections in Sindh. He further said that development funds are being disbursed in many areas of the province to influence voters in violation of the Election Commission's orders to this effect. The PML-N leader maintained that teachers have been assigned as Returning Officers and arrangements are being made to reject the nomination papers of PML-N candidates.
Ismail Raho said that the credit of the 18th Constitutional Amendment goes to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who has empowered the institutions. PML-N Sindh General Secretary Senator Nihal Hashmi said that the Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had been appointed with the consultation of all parties.
