Chief Minister finalises Rs 150 billion development plan for Karachi

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on the advice of Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, has prepared an ambitious development plan for Karachi.
The plan to be called `Karachi Development Package' (KDP) will cost Rs150 billion and the projects to be undertaken under it include construction of roads, streets, flyovers, bridges, development of parks and recreational spots, different traffic management plans, provision of passenger transport facilities, storm-water drains, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board's schemes, solid waste management plan, improvement of environment, etc.
According to sources, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto had recently suggested to the Sindh chief minister to prepare an ambitious development plan for Karachi so as to provide better facilitate and environment to its citizens.
Expressing his satisfaction over the KDP at a briefing, the PPP chief has urged the chief minister to complete all legal formalities as early as possible so that work on the KDP could begin without any delay.
