Export Processing Zones Authority: Jatoi inaugurates Phase III infrastructure work

Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi visited Export Processing Zones Authority, Head Office. During a visit to EPZA he also performed the inauguration of the phase III infrastructure development work.
The Federal Minister took keen interest in the working and concept of EPZA. He assured EPZA management that all out efforts shall be made by the Federal Government to promote export based industrialisation in the country. It is a national cause in which all the stakeholders will be taken on board to resolve all the issues for smooth running of business activity in the country.
EPZA, being an industrial zone, is focused to attract investors. It is also a good sign that the land for industrial units in KEPZ has been completely colonised. It is the duty of Federal Government to facilitate investors to attract them for investment in Export Processing Zones all over in Pakistan, give them basic infrastructure and provide incentives that will promote exports from the country .EPZA is playing commendable role in providing all these facilities to the investors. Government is also receiving revenue from the exports being made by the zone.
Minister's appreciated the Chairman EPZA who's keenly involved in promotion of Export Processing Zones in all over the country to accommodate potential investors of the country as well as to attract of foreign investors in Pakistan. EPZA has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with the FIDMEC to establish new zone in Faisalabad, which is extensive demand of investors, particularly the business community of Faisalabad.
Balochistan province has natural resources having large deposits of hydrocarbons minerals. It bears huge potential for development of agriculture, especially fruits, vegetables, fisheries and livestock. Its coastal areas, particularly the Gwadar port offers great opportunity for socio-economic development of the province in particular as the whole country. The Government of Pakistan is also very much interested the development of Gwadar Zone for which they have already provided a forum of Advisory committee for speedy developments in Gwadar. Chairman EPZA has requested for the land in Karachi for the extension of KEPZ in Bin Qasim, Lyari and Gadap Town, Minister assure he will support this proposal and take up the matter with concerned quarters.-PR
