The Punjab chief secretary has ordered a more vigorous anti-dengue campaign in the province, saying strict implementation of instructions must be ensured minus negligence. In a speech to a meeting Khizar Hayyat Gondal chaired at Civil Secretariat on Wednesday to review the measures, he said an anti-dengue day would be staged in Rawalpindi on September 19 and lauded the performance of departments, but directed them to remain alert.
He also said awareness about dengue should be enhanced as people's co-operation was of significant importance in efforts to control it and to fulfil the responsibilities assigned to overcome it, the heads of departments should regularly review performance and conduct field visits. He then chaired a meeting of commissioners about the Kissan Package through video link and told them to complete a survey of rice and cotton crops.
