Trailer for ‘Batti Gul Meter Chaalu’ shows lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor struggling for the common issue of load-shedding that is not only prevalent in India but also in Pakistan.
After teasing the audience with their new movie posters, the makers of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chaalu’ released the trailer of the movie on Friday, putting all the anxiously waiting viewers out of curiosity.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the movie has taken into account one of the biggest problems faced by India - load-shedding. Other than Shahid and Shraddha, the movie also features Yami Gautam and Divyendu Sharma, who has made a short appearance.
The story is based on electricity crisis faced by the people in a small town in Uttarakhand. The story revolves around three friends played by Shahid, Shraddha and Divyendu. The first two minutes of the trailer shows the three friends having fun together.
Towards the end of the trailer, Divyendu, who owns a small factory gets an immense electricity bill and because of money crisis he commits suicide. This leads to Shahid’s character fighting against the corrupt companies as a lawyer. Shahid’s character as a lawyer is opposed by Yami.
The film was slated to release on August 31 but will be now be released in September to avoid a clash with Shraddha’s upcoming film ‘Stree’.
Shahid was last seen in Padmavaat, which was the biggest hit of his career. Shahid and Shraddha have also worked together in ‘Haider’ (2014).
