Japanese Ambassador in Pakistan, Hiroshi Inomata and Portuguese Ambassador, Joao Paulo Sabido Costa visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI), here on Thursday. During the meeting, KPCCI chief, Faud Ishaq urged the Japanese diplomat Hiroshi Inomata to cooperate in establishing joint Industrial Estate at Pak-Afghan border region and two-way of Kohat Tunnel besides rehabilitation and reconstruction of educational institutions, damaged by terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The chamber president stressed the need for the enhancement of bilateral trade and economic ties between Japan and Pakistan, besides extending co-operation in transformation of modern technology, industrialisation, energy, mining, transport, pharmaceutical, agriculture, food processing and packing, light engineering between the two countries. while speaking during the meeting, Portuguese Ambassador Joao Paulo Sabido Costa also called for making joint efforts for further cementing bilateral trade and economic between Pakistan and Portugal.
The KPCCI chief invited the Japanses and Portuguese companies to make investment in hydel power and hydro carbon potentials, besides mineral, precious stones, marble, woods and other natural resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also informed the visiting diplomats about business and investment opportunities in the province. The meeting was also attended by KPCCI vice president Haji Iqbal Afridi, spouse of Japanese Ambassador, Honorary Consul General of Japan in Peshawar, Nawabzada Fazal Karim Khan Afridi, chamber former president, Zahidullah Shinwari, Malik Iftikhar Awan and Faiz Rasool.
